Worcester’s History Just Got Scarier!
Every Friday and Saturday until March 2010

Meet by the Elgar Statue – Worcester High Street
Tickets £8.50 per person (Suitable for 11+)
The hugely popular Ghost Walk of Worcester returns to the streets of Worcester with a brand new season of spine-tingling tours led by professional actors every Friday and Saturday night. With a new script, and new characters leading the tours, ghost walkers will have unprecedented access into some of Worcester's most haunted locations including exclusive access inside the Guildhall, St Swithun’s Church and The Commandery at night!
Stops on the walk include St Helens Church, The Guildhall, Huntingdon Hall, St Swithun’s Church, the Cornmarket, Greyfriars, the Tudor House Museum, The Cathedral and the Commandery and in each location walkers will find out intriguing facts about the history of the buildings, and hear of the ghostly happenings that have been reported over the years. Over the course of the walk the guide talks of a whole host of ghostly beings - tales of spooky monks, anguished children, angry men, desolate women, and even long-dead cats and bears are among the stories told – none claiming to be fact, but all bona fide reports over the years by different people who have frequented the buildings.
The Four Ghost Walk Guides: Ida Mead, Peter Addalet, Ron Hengelore
and Brenda Duaddie. Please note, only one guide will take each walk.
Highlights of the tour are having exclusive access beneath the Guildhall to the hidden cells below where it is reported that the perfume of a long-deceased lady still hangs in the air, and visitors report sudden drops in temperature. Later as walkers enter the ancient St Swithuns Church they hear of the shallow burial vaults beneath their feet, and of some of the many unexplained happenings that have been reported here over the years.
There are also fascinating stories to hear at the Cathedral, of the historical and ghostly nature before the walk culminates in a welcome glass of mulled wine at one of the spookiest buildings in the city, The Commandery.
