Directed by Marc Dugmore.

Summoned to a convent, Dr Martha Livingstone, a court-appointed psychiatrist, is asked to determine the sanity of a young novitiate nun accused of murdering her own newborn baby. Miriam Ruth, the Mother Superior, seems bent on protecting young Sister Agnes from the doctor, arousing Livingstone’s suspicions. Who killed the infant and who fathered the child? Livingstone’s questions force all three women to re-examine the meaning of faith, the power of love and the realities in their own lives, leading to a dramatic, compelling climax. Agnes of God was a hit on Broadway and later when it was made into a film with Jane Fonda and Anne Bancroft.

“Riveting, powerful, electrifying drama … the dialogue crackles” New York Daily News
