Fresh from the iconic Troubadour (London) & Fairport Fringe Festival (Banbury), the Julie July Band play a heartfelt tribute to the great singer-songwriter Sandy Denny, one of the pioneers of the British Folk-Rock movement.

Her brief career produced a legacy of beautiful, haunting original and traditional compositions, from dreamy acoustic melodies to driving progressive folk-rock. Richard Thompson called her “The greatest artist of her generation”. Her song, “Who Knows Where The Time Goes?”, was voted favourite folk-track of all time by listeners of BBC Radio 2. The band performs songs from her time with The Strawbs, Fairport Convention and Fotheringay, as well as from her solo career.

“Went to see the Julie July Band and have just got home. Very emotional experience. The band were excellent and Julie’s singing was superb. You close your eyes and you’re listening to Fairport.”
